MICHELLE SALT

Michelle Salt is a walking inspiration with an unbelievable work ethic and dedication to living her life to the absolute fullest. She truly encapsulates what an Adaptive Athlete is. She didn’t just survive a life threatening motorcycle accident, she used it as a launching pad to start living life the way she wanted, letting absolutley nothing stand in her way. She spent seven days on life support, five months in the hospital recovering and lost her right leg 10 inches above the knee. But Michelle determined, just one day after her leg was taken, that she would not only walk again, but would get back on a snowboard, a sport she fell in love with as a teen, and compete at the highest level. In March of 2014, Michelle made that dream a reality when she competed in the debut of snowboarding at the Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia,  becoming the first ever Female Canadian Paralympic snowboarder. Since the games Michelle again walked the fitness competitor stage where she placed 9th out of 19 women. She loves to Rock Climb, Kayak, Cycle, Wake board, Camp, Work-out, Horseback Ride and Golf.

ZACK PABEN

Absolutely love this guy!!! Zack Paben is the founder and CEO of More Heart Than Scars,  an awesome non-profit with a mission to give individuals the tools and assistance they need to overcome their personal traumas, challenges, and diseases, so that they may find pleasure and pride in their life pursuits. MHTS has helped dozens of adaptive individuals overcome challenges ranging from hiking the Appalachian Trail to completing grade school to finishing Obstacle Course Races. Earlier this year Zack took a leap of faith and brought MHTS over to the UK to see if its message was one that resonated around the world. He set out from North Carolina for Wales with twenty dollars in his pocket, a message to share, and no idea what he was getting himself into. Zack sat down with us and shared the adventure of a lifetime that included everything from attempted robbery to breaking his toe and fracturing his elbow to finding an adaptive athlete. It’s a long interview but well worth the listen! THE ALLELES

We love these guys! McCauley Wanner and Ryan Palibroda are the co-founders of The Alleles Design Studio, where they make some of the coolest prosthetic covers you will ever see. They are changing the game in the world of prosthetics from mechanical and clunky, to fashionable and chic. Their covers allow people to inject their own personality and sense of style into their prosthetics, creating a shift in confidence and changing how others perceive their adaptation.  A very fun interview with McCauley and Ryan!
